How is domestic hot water prepared in a heat pump heating system?
Special hot water tanks with large heat exchanger surface areas are required to prepare DHW and transfer the high transmission capacity to the water efficiently.
Particularly during the summer months, air-to-water heat pumps can prepare DHW at low operating costs; furthermore, due to their high COPs they are even suitable for heating swimming pools.
The heat pump controller, the so-called heat pump manager, automatically adjusts the heat and the DHW preparation. Regular reheating or lowering times can be programmed according to need. It is even possible to prepare DHW exclusively at times when electricity tariffs are cheaper (e.g. at night).
