Modern buildings with a good seal on the outer shell call for special additional requirements in building technology. Especially “proper ventilation” should not be left to chance – as the benefits of this energy-efficient design are easily undone.
Automatic room ventilation with heat recovery ensures that the air that needs to be exchanged from both a hygienic and constructional standpoint is exchanged in an energy-conscious and economically feasible manner. As residential buildings require both ventilation and hot water all year round, using exhaust air energy as an energy source for domestic hot water preparation can be especially recommended.
A combination consisting of a heat pump for heating purposes and an exhaust air ventilation unit can, for example, be an attractive alternative. The heat pump provides the house with an optimised heat supply based on the external temperature. The ventilation unit draws the polluted air from the exhaust air rooms (kitchen, bathroom, WC) via an exhaust air duct system. The waste heat contained in the exhaust air is used for domestic hot water preparation using an air-to-water heat pump integrated in the ventilation unit. Fresh external air flows into the rooms via valves integrated in the outside walls.
